Washing clothing and gear with natural down requires special preparation. In addition to detergent, it's worth adding things like tennis balls or special down balls to the washing machine to prevent the down from clumping. Clothing with natural down fillings, depending on the thickness of the filling, can take up to several days to dry. When drying, remember to constantly break up the down and distribute it evenly across the entire garment. This type of clothing is usually dried flat to prevent the down from shifting.
